Talks & Teas – The Priest’s House in Muchelney – with David Maclean

Wednesday 6th November  2024 at 2.00pm

The Priest’s House is a National Trust property in the hamlet of Muchelney, close to the ruined Muchelney Abbey and built in 1308 under the direction of the then abbot of Muchelney.  This talk looks briefly at the history of Muchelney, as related to its position in Wessex, as well as  the church of St Peter and St Paul to which the “priest” was assigned. We will also focus on the  property itself from its building in 1308 until the present day.
