A quick glance of what we have planned for this year.
1. Richard Sims talk on the Sail cloth industry Thursday 5th June at 2pm at the museum – seats are limited, so book early.
2. Richard Sims guided walk of the historic factory sites Thursday 19th June at 6.00pm – a walk taking in Abbey St., Popleswell, South St. is longer than our usual guided walks but will be within 100yds of the town centre.
3. Wyedale factory tour Thursday 26th June at 2.30pm at the factory in Cathole Bridge Rd. We are grateful to Liz Murnaghan for offering the opportunity to see how this site produces equipment for agricultural use and was evolved from the need of the farm to develop a calf feeder. A course in production led to a successful local industry. People taking part must wear sensible shoes to walk comfortably and safely around slopes/steps. The tour will last over 1 hour.
Tickets for all events cost £5 , bookings via email to admin@crewkernemuseum.co.uk. Numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
All other advertised events are free.
For families with children, we are currently planning some activities relating to weaving that will take place during the summer. More news on that later!
